A movie aficionado and a critic as he is known, Eric Schiffer Seop developed his love for film at a young age. Being a native in Queens New York, he has been exposed in places where great movies like God father, Citizen Kane, Reservoir Dogs and Taxi Driver were captured. Eric Schiffer Seop is actually a fan of renowned director Quentin Tarantino and he even described him as a genius.
Quentin Tarantino is a video store clerk who eventually emerged as a famous and award winning director. While he was working as a clerk,, he has been exposed to different movies which honed him to become a great and well-known director in the United States. According to her mother, he has developed his love for movies at an early age. He also loves story telling. In fact, he used to write sad Mother’s day stories for her mother, Connie Zastoupil. “He’d always kill me and tell me how bad he felt about it,” she explained further. Though it may be a weird way of showing his love for writing and his mother, Mrs. Zastoupil said that Quentin’s stories are enough to make her cry.
Quentin was actually a high school drop-out. He hates going to school and he usually spend most of his time watching movies or reading comics. Studying is not his craft. During his interview for Entertainment weekly he said that the only subject that he liked is history. “History was cool and I did well there, because it was kind of like the movies,” he said.
He started working as an usher at an adult film theater before he worked for the Video Archives in Manhattan Beach, California. Together with a workmate who shared the same passion for film, he began writing some script ideas as early as that time. In fact, he has written numerous screenplays and two of which are the True Romance and Natural Born Killers. Quentin’s debut film, Reservoir Dogs was released in 1992 under the producer Lawrence Bender.
His ticket to success was the widely acclaimed film Pulp Fiction in 1994 which has a total gross of $108 million at the box office. Quentin was also the man behind the Kill Bill series that starred Uma Thurman who earned a Golden Globe nomination for that movie. In 2009, he was nominated for best director and best screenplay for the film Inglorious Bastards. Recently, his film Django Unchained, became the highest-grossing film at the North American box office.
